Voting Independent Isn’t Just a Viable Choice, It’s the Only Viable Choice!
You march to the beat of your own drum. You’re thoughtful. You get along well with people, including those who don’t agree with you. You’re not terribly concerned with what other people think, you just want to do right by yourself and others. In short, you’re independent: both in life and in politics.
Well, you’re not alone.

As independents, we embrace the wisdom of one of America’s earliest and greatest philosophers, Ralph Waldo Emerson:
“To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, — that is genius.”
“Nothing is at last sacred but the integrity of your own mind.”
Independents have struggled to organize in the past because we cannot be organized around platforms and platitudes. No independent mind can be compelled to conform to moral standards developed by a committee.
But independents do have principles that can serve to organize us and give us the political power that is our rightful inheritance.
CONVICTION

We believe that every politician and voter must form political views based on their individual experience and capacity for reason.
ACTION

We believe that every politician and voter must take action to move society in a direction that aligns with their personal goals and values.
CONNECTION

We believe that listening to people who disagree with us broadens our experience and expands our capacity for reason.
While the elite of today’s political establishment waste their time calling names and struggling to resist and undo the policies of their political opponents in a never ending game of seesaw, independents are finally ready to take on the political mantle that is our destiny. If left unchecked, partisan-tail chasing will lead our state and our country to exhaustion, stagnation, and ruin. Things must change, and independents are ready to lead the way.
The most popular politician in the country is an independent. In Arizona, there are significantly more independents than Democrats, and nearly as many independents as Republicans. In the last 30 years, independents have grown over 10 times faster than the major parties in Arizona. So why do people think independents can’t win?
Because until now we haven’t been organized.
The AZ Indie 100 is a major initiative that will change that in 2018 and beyond. We are going to run an Independent for all 98 state offices that are up in the next election, in addition to a couple local and/or national races.
Achieving this goal will give independents a $6 million dollar voice in 2018. Twenty years ago the voters of Arizona put in place a system to help sincere candidates who don’t have access to big money from Donors. That system is called Clean Elections, and it was designed specifically so that a movement like this can take place.
Money isn’t our only challenge. Arizona independents have very few elder stateswomen and statesmen, current candidates, campaign workers, and dedicated volunteers and donors to guide us. But this initiative will change that. These 100 campaigns will be the catalyst to give us a strong, organized presence in each AZ legislative district. In addition, we will train up the first generation of dedicated independent campaign workers, volunteers, and donors.
We’re going to achieve great things in 2018, and the leaders in 2018 will become the backbone of independent organization and advocacy in 2020 and beyond.
